My Review
What is up with Disney and all these dark Kdramas? I couldn’t even finish Connect, it was too gross and dark for me.
Ji An’s survival journey was non-stop and I couldn’t wait for the next episode to come out. Each of the people that Jin Man sent to help her had a special set of skills and also did this completely out of loyalty to him. The people who are trying to kill her are purely in it for the money. Ji An is not your typical lead hero. She has had almost no hands training. She fumbles and makes mistakes but remembers what her uncle told her and picks herself back up again.
Her relationship with her uncle wasn’t an overtly affectionate or close one but he loved her so much and made sure that if anything happened to him, she was taken care of.

You have the clear bad guys and the good guys that are technically also bad guys. People can become bad under the right circumstances. Let’s look at the team that Jin Man put together to protect Ji An.
This is definitely an awesome show that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The characters were all very well thought out. There was a lot of flashback scenes but they were able to make it work and keep your interest.
Spoilers start here….

Brother
The strange man who lived in the basement because he had severe photosensitivity and it was the best place to be. He’s the part a Jin Man that he hid from Ji An. This guy ran the store’s operations from the basement. Out of sight from the world
Bae Jung Min
This kid was a classmate of Ji An that ended up working as a web developer for Jin Man after Ji An moved away. He’s a sneaky little bastard. This 14 year old looking 28 year old is a little shit. On the outside he seemed like a sweet helpful person but he was actually the worst one in the show.
Pasin
Our guy Pasin. He taught Ji An how to fight so she can stand up for herself. This former mercinary is also one of her guardians. He showed true loyalty. He was on the run and had to leave Korea for conning money out of some people.
Min Hye
Our female assassin. She was the first to show up at the door and we had no idea if she was a good guy or a bad guy when she showed up. She was also being hella sketchy about it. We later find out why she showed up to help Ji An.
All of these friends who came to help Ji An were all the parts that Jin Man was hiding from his niece. He also told her to say his name three times and he would come like Bogey Man, a strange north American reference.
All of the characters there is a very unclear distinction between good and evil. The people who were after Ji An were paid mercinaries and they were really just doing what they’re paid to do. Jin Man did the same job as well but he got out of it when he realized there was no real reperccusion for killing innocent people. Was what he was doing any better?
The biggest question I have is, why didn’t she cry when he died? Did she know when she saw the corpse that he wasn’t dead?
