Did you just finish the first season of The Glory? Or maybe you finally caught up on Reborn Rich. Was Anna and Big Mouth too much heart break? Let me suggest these emotional palate cleansers for you. Sometimes you don’t want the intensity or need to come down from something super emotionally taxing. Here are my suggestions.
The Fabulous
Lead actors: Chae Soo Bin, Choi Min Ho, Park Hee Jung, Lee Sang Un, Lee Shi Woo
This show is simple as they come. It’s just beautiful people living their best lives doing happy things. Ji Eun (Chae Soo Bin) is a manager working in luxury brand marketing for a small company. She comes across many obstacles but always overcomes them. It’s the usual Chae Soo Bin magic of making you feel happy. Woo Min (Choi Min Ho) is hot and highly sought after photographer who doesn’t want to commit to a full time job. Joseph (Lee Sang Un) is a rich kid who is trying to make as a local luxury brand designer in Korea. Seon Ho (Park Hee Jung) is our supermodel and she is doing what she can to make sure she doesn’t get pushed out. The four of them are best friends and help each other live become successful in the fashion industry.
There is minimal drama and all the happy feels.
Love to Hate You
Lead Actors: Kim Ok Bin, Yoo Teo, Go Won Hee, Kim Ji Hoon
This show is a woman’s best friend. I am feeling the feminist energy in this one. Kim Ok Bin makes this show what it is. She is also 3rd degree black belt in Hapkido and Taekwondo in real life which makes her extra bad ass.
Yeo Mi Ran is a lawyer by day and woman’s rights vigilante by night. Na Eun is her bestie who tries to keep her on the straight path. Nam Gang Ho is an actor and kind of a sexist asshole and the sexy Do Won Joon (aka Denver, Kim Ji Hoon) is a former actor and Gang Ho’s manager/best friend.
This show is hilariously funny as we watch Mi Ran break down all of the Gang Ho’s bullshit opinions about women and fall in love. Obviously Kim Jo Hoon’s sexiness being in the show helped as well. I think out of the three on this list, this show is my favourite.
Gaus Electronics
Lead Actors: Kwak Dong Yeon, Go Seong Hee, Bae Hyeon Seon, Kang Min Ah
This show is just slap stick comic genius. I was cracking up every episode. It’s about a group of work colleagues that work in the worst department at Gaus Electronics. They are known as the loser department. Lee Sang Shik (Kwak Dong Yeon) is eager to please and straight edged and he has to work with Cha Na Rae (Go Seong Hee, congrats on your recent nuptials) who is a cranky, bitter, and slightly abusive office employee. Bae Ma Tan (Bae Hyeon Seon) is the new guy. He is rich and is pretending to be a normal person. The Kdrama is full of laughter and unexpected plot twists.
If you need a break from the emotional roller coasters and just some laughs. These shows are a good place to start. Enjoy!
