KDramas I Could Not Finish

This is not a pleasant post. These are the kdramas I was looking forward to but couldn’t finish.

Angel Eyes

I had high hopes for this show. I loved Koo Hye Sun in Boys Over Flowers and was upset about the rumors of her ugly divorce and I wanted to support her. This show was not it. There was zero chemistry between her and Lee Sang Yoon’s character. It started off really strong with Kang Ha Neul and Nam Hyun Jin. I wish they had just kept the two actors and just aged them a little. I literally got to episode 13 with only a few more episodes to go and I dropped it. I think it was the acting that did it for me.

Cool Guys Hot Ramyun

I love Lee Ki Woo and wanted to watch this. I only watched 3 episodes and the teacher student sexual tension completely turned me off. Jung Il Woo also kind of grosses me out. I don’t know why he always takes these grease ball characters.

My ID is Gangnam Beauty

I am a supporter of people who choose to have plastic surgery to make themselves feel better. Kang Mi Rae (Im Soo Hyang) was tortured for her physical appearance and was traumatized into getting work done. I thought it was a great idea for a show and it touches on very real societal and psychological issues for young women.

I had to stop after 3 episodes. I found the female lead so pathetic and annoying. I could not find anything redeemable about her and there was not enough going on in the story for me to hang on to the show. I was excited to watch this but quickly disappointed.

Now, We Are Breaking Up

Jang Ki Yong’s sexiness could not keep me interested in this show. I gave it to episode 8 and had to give up. I’m sorry, I’m just going to say it, I don’t like Song Hye Kyo. She is a terrible actor and clearly gets through life on her beauty. Jang Ki Yong and Song Hye Kyo had zero chemistry. The two were clearly uncomfortable around each other. The story was bland and the directing sucked as well. This show was the biggest kdrama disappointment of 2021.

So I Married an Anti-Fan

The whole theme of the poor pathetic girl and rich douche bag is played out and should have been left behind in 2013. Lee Geun Young (Soo Young) is a reporter. Journalists are bad asses. What was the writer thinking by making her so meek and stupid? I couldn’t handle it anymore. I watched it for Kim Min Kyu’s dimples but Soo Young’s character was so hard to watch I had to stop.

Monthly Home Magazine

I love Jung So Min so much, I attempted to watch this twice. Both times I couldn’t get through it. My reason for hating this show is the same as noted above.

If you have a different opinion, please change my mind. I want to love these shows.
