Misty – Keeping it Grown and Sexy

I’m generally hesitant to watch these intense dramas like World of the Married, Mine, or Sky Castle. Each of those shows I had to muster up the courage to watch because there was a good chance I wouldn’t leave the couch for 48 to 72 hours. I didn’t have the patience to wait to see what happens next during these crazy dramatic shows. Misty was no different.

Misty sat on my Netflix Watchlist for at least a year before I blocked off some time to watch it. Every minute of this show was suspenseful and thoughtful. The writers didn’t learn about comic relief.

Synopsis

Her former lover, Lee Jae Young (Go Joon) reappears and suddenly dies. She is accused of murdering him and everything that she fought so hard for is now at risk. Her husband Kang Tae Wook (Ji Jin Hee) becomes her defense lawyer. All this is going on and in the background everyone is trying to replace her as an anchor.

Eros, Philia, Agape

Let’s get into the three men in Hye Ran’s life.

Eros – That sexy, romantic, physical love from Lee Jae Young. They had to put in a conscious effort to keep their hands off of each other even not seeing each other for years.

How lucky is she?

Fashion

If you love women’s fashion, this show is for you. I never thought it was possible for women to have this many power suits. All of her outfits show she is powerful yet still reminds us that she is a woman trying to make it in a man’s world. Whoever did the clothing for Kim Nam Joo in this show needs an award!

My Review

This is an excellent show and definitely worth watching. It is definitely on par with World of the Married when it comes to acting and story even though the ratings were much lower. While watching the show it’s really hard to tell if Hye Ran is a villain or not. She seems like a horrible person in the beginning but then eventually you start rooting for her. Was she just hardened by all of the hardships life threw at her? Going through her story, you can feel yourself immersed in her life and really feeling empathy.

The whole murder case of “who did it” plot will have you suspecting everyone and questioning if it was just a car accident. Literally everyone involved could have easily killed him. Everyone had a motive. Everyone had the opportunity. Why is Hye Ran the primary suspect?

This cast of all stars really brought all of the complex multi-faceted characters to life. Jin Ki Joo is really one of my favourite young actors and I loved seeing her in a more serious role. She can play the goof role and proved she can play the role of a vixen.

Please have a look at this hot ajuhshee, Ji JIn Hee. Hye Ran needs to forget about all those other men and just focus on her ridiculously hot husband. Actually, the visuals of the entire cast is enough reason to sit through 16 episodes.

The end of the show really hits with an important message about ambition and happiness. Hye Ran questions of living the way she did really worth it in the end.

I would put this on your must watch list and you won’t regret it. It’s available on both Viki and Netflix in North America.
