I’ll be honest, I didn’t care for Shin Hye Sun when I first saw her. The first kdramas I saw her in were Stranger and Legend of the Blue Sea and her characters in both of the shows were not great.

I fell in love with her when in Mr. Queen. She was absolutely amazing in this show. She was able to take on the mannerisms of a man with such comedic ease. I couldn’t believe it was the same actress. Her acting range is amazing.
She played a sweet naïve woman who was stuck at the mental age of 17 after waking up from a coma in Still 17. She played the role perfectly. Although I didn’t like how the writer played down her tragic experience but it didn’t take away from abilities as an actress. There was one particular scene when she crawled out of her room like the girl from The Ring and scared the shit out of Yang Se Jong and I couldn’t stop laughing.

She learned ballet for her role in Angel’s Last Mission Love where she played a blind ballerina. There is no way anyone can deny her hard work. She has a unique subtle beauty and looks calm and quiet which made her character in Mr. Queen that much funnier.

She has many other kdramas and movies that I want to catch up on. I can’t wait to see her upcoming drama See You in My 19th Life, a kdrama based on a webtoon about a girl who can remember her past lives.
