I absolutely love Park Min Young. She lights up every TV screen that she is on. There is just something really special about her. She is not just a pretty face but also very smart. I recently saw her on a reality show, Busted, and she was so smart and kind to everyone. She is the type of woman that you either want to marry or you want to be her best friend and go for soju with her. She has an elegance about her and a smile that can light up any TV screen.
I first saw her in What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim and her character was absolute magic. I loved her in this show so much I went back and watched Sungkyungkwan Scandal, Healer, City Hunter (I watched it for her, not Lee Min Ho), Remember, Queen for Seven Days, Her Private Life, and When the Weather is Fine. She has a much longer list, since she started acting in 2005-2006 and I am making my way through it!
She is able to play a romantic comedy lead like Her Private Life and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim and also successfully take on darker roles like Queen For Seven Days and When the Weather is Fine. I feel like she cried in every episode of Queen For Seven Days which I’m sure is difficult for any actor. I’m definitely looking forward to her upcoming drama, Meteorological Agency People.
When the Weather is Fine is a slow paced kdrama but her superior acting skills and chemistry with Seo Kang Joon brought excitement and anticipation to the show.
I love that she is setting an example to all women and only taking roles of a strong woman. Maybe not her role as Nana in City Hunter but I blame the writers for that. She started off as a bodyguard but ended up a damsel in distress. She may deemed the Queen of Kdrama Rom-Coms but I believe she can take on any role.
